What is the difference between a domain, subdomain, and directory?

Regular domains are your standard URLs like splashthat.com or splashthat.events.

Subdomains are a unique URL that lives on your purchased domain as an extension in front of your regular domain like support.splashthat.com or blockparty.splashthat.com.

Directories are a unique URL that lives on your purchased domain as an extension at the end of URL like splashthat.com/webinars.

Heads up! If you’re using a directory like mycompany.com/events, the root domain mycompany.com must also point to Splash. You probably don’t want to point your main company website to Splash (yet!) so we recommend using a subdomain instead.
